Cenergy Holdings announced two days before (03-06-2025) that Corinth Pipeworks, the steel pipe division, is participating in the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, in Liverpool Bay of the United Kingdom.
The project is being implemented by Eni, as part of the HyNet industrial cluster, and is a key milestone in the UK's energy transition and carbon reduction strategy.
Under the contract, the company will supply approximately 41 km of 20-, 24- and 36-inch diameter straight seam submerged arc (LSAW) steel pipes and induction-welded elbows with an external anti-corrosion coating. These pipes will be used in the onshore and subsea carbon dioxide (CO₂) pipeline system.

The Liverpool Bay CCS project is the core infrastructure of HyNet, one of the most advanced and ambitious CCS industrial complexes in the world. It aims to capture and permanently store carbon dioxide emissions from industrial activities in the North West of England and North Wales. The CO₂ will be transported via a combination of new and existing pipelines, with the ultimate destination being safe storage in Eni’s depleted subsea gas fields beneath Liverpool Bay.
“We are honoured to be contributing to such a strategic project in achieving the UK’s carbon reduction targets and the global effort to tackle climate change,” said Elias Bekiros, General Manager of Corinth Pipeworks. “Our advanced know-how, our rigorous standards in demanding conditions, such as sulphur-rich environments, and our strong commitment to sustainable development, make us a trusted partner for low-carbon infrastructure in Europe and internationally.”
This contract strengthens Corinth Pipeworks' position in the European CCS projects market, supporting key initiatives to reduce the industry's carbon emissions, through high-quality steel pipes.
